Banshee2003,
Actaully the magic button I am talking about is a starter. I disagrww with you that if you do the same things your Banshee or Zilla will keep up with the new 450's. I know in fact that a piped and filtlered Banshee will get beaten by a piped and filtered 450. Straight line, around a track, up a hill whatever. Your right, my luck has been crappy with my motor. Thats why I am getting the new one and running 91 in it with a pipe and filter. No mixing, no wrenching, no race gas, 45 hp. 350 lbs. Better suspension.
But don't get me wrong, I love 2 strokes, I just think for ease of use and power, the new 450's have something going for them.

So your saying a 450 will beat a Banshee or a Zilla in an 1/8 mile drag. Whatever your smoking may it be your motor pass it along. You have way to HIGH hopes for your 450.

Coyotechaser,

I found a gray hair on my chest the other day. I fear that I'm slowly dying. I'm sure I'll be in the grave within 80 years. Better go ride while I can still beat these young punks.

In 300' on dirt the 450 will beat the Banshee for sure. Quadzilla would be close depending on the rider!

i agree with sandneck, a piped and filtered yfz450 will beat the same mods on any 2-stroke, but the problem is when was the last time you saw a banshee or quadzilla that was only piped and filtered!!!

Banshee,
I am sticking to my guns. I am a witness of Selector pulling BUILT banshees up Choke Cherry Hill in St Anthony, on his YFZ450, and watching the Banshee guys shake their heads in amazement. I witnessed his buddies saying " Damn, I got to get one of those!". Some that he beat had more than just the pipe and filters too. I have witnessed many 450's beating all comers, short of the drag banshees at Little Saraha Utah, on many occasions. You and I both know that 450s are mostly still stock.
I am only stating that I think the out of the box 450's are the way to go for me.
By the way, I will still pass you whatever I am smoking!

That would put us in the neighborhood of the top banshees. Excluding Crankensteins. Just keep an eye and ear open things happen everyday.

The Yenko looks best in Blue with White racing stripes.
You might not be aware of it but in the last couple of years the 2 strokes have made great strides themselves...Only a couple of years ago a built Banshee engine consisted of stock cylinders running a stroked crank, this is if you leave the Crankensteins type engines out of it of course.10mm seemed to be as big as you could go, making them around 500cc...100hp was considered quite an achievement but nowadays...You can build a Banshee that will put out 100hp ride the thing all day long and it will be pretty reliable, aftermarket cylinders like the Cheetahs,T-REX etc. are making this possible due to their modern design.Extreme drag Banshees are now 550cc and up running 12-14mm stroked cranks and hitting 3.7sec in 300ft and it is only the beginning as these monoblocks cylinders are only starting to show what they are really capable of, all of this acheived without 20-100hp nitrous shots or turbos i might add...Sure someday the 4 strokes may catch up but it is still a very long term commitment.

As for the wrenching part my Shee is a 421cc 4mm Cheetah set up putting out low 80s hp according to my builder and all the maintenace i had to do on it this summer...Well pour in some pre mix and go...

sandneck,
Ok you got me on the up hill thing, but I remember myself saying 1/8 mile drag. Up a hill a 4 stroke will win there built with all torque and the powerband of a 2-strokes just going to spin the tires. If you are talking a regular flat drag a bansee or a Quadzilla will eat a 4 stroke. I really hope you would agree with me on this but if not oh well.

Got to finally race the Yzf450 today. Actually raced two of them, one with paddles and the other was 2days old with no paddles. Smoked the 2 day old by 2 to 3 quads in 4 out of 5 races. Other race I only beat him by 1 quad. The paddled 450 I was beating by 1 to 2 quads. Only raced it twice. After hearing everyone talk so well about it I figured it would out run me by a bike or two. So i dont believe it would outrun a Quadzilla.

Imback, I never said that 2 strokes werent making strides. But with the 2 stroke ban coming in 2006 I believe that 4 stroke technology should level the playing field. My brothers banshee is running the 4mm stroker crank and much more and I am super impressed by its arm ripping ability. I just believe that 4 strokes will be a dominate force in the years to come.

Well you are probably right but as long as there will be aftermarket companies producing parts for two strokes engines they will keep making progress. How long will it last? Who knows.
