over heated warrior
#11
I think an oil cooler is a worthwhile investment in the warrior if you are going to keep it for any length of time. You will add oil capacity and keep it significantly cooler which will help with reliability. The carb on my old warrior turned into a pain in the a$$, go through it and with the proper jets for your setup, it should stop killing after riding. What does the plug look like, have you inspected it after one of these kill sessions?

Sounds to me like a jetting issue... If this engine has a WB pipe and filter you should be running at least a 150 main jet.. Just a pipe and filter do not cause enough gains to justify an oil cooler, but if porting and cam have been added you may need to install an oil cooler. Give mascman a jingle, he makes an fairly inexpensive kit http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/michaelsm...&.view=t&.done

I agree...sounds like a tuning issue.... I rode a warrior hard for years...even had a hitch on it. (pulled around a lawn cart)
Never overheated on me..not that I recall at least.
Have it checked out....you keep overheating it and your looking at more than just pistons and rings like a two stroke...
valves do not like to be toasted
