Default sheared decompression pin

i have a 686 with a stage 2 cam and i couldnt figure out why it had a hard time turning over. i took it apart and the decompression pin was sheard off. I called hotcams and it is a newer style cam and they had no idea why this happened. Please if you have any idea please let me know.

Default sheared decompression pin

When I installed my pin into the Hotcam the hole was a tad too small....restricting the pin from smooth movement. I guarantee this would have led too premature failure if I had not cleaned up the burrs inside the decompressioon pin hole of the Hotcam. It was no big deal....I used a flathead screwdriver that was a snug fit in the hole and twisted it a bit...the pin worked flawless after that.

When you put it together make sure the pin retracts when you turn the actuator, if the actuator is put in 180 degrees out the pin will not retact and wouldn't last very long and the engine won't run to good either untill the pin fails.

that was the problem. you could feel the new one drag or bind in the hole. it was cleaned a little with a drill bit and now its starts like it did new.
