on a Kodiak 400 for my wife. I was thinking before I went in about the Wolverine, but the salesman changed my mind. That and the pricing. It seems that the Kodiak will be more for my money and probably better for the wife. Anybody have a reason to disagree with me? The Kodiak is $5299, while the Wolverine is $4999. She is not experienced, but will definitely get into it. We will be duning on the Oregon coast when we can - will the Kodiak keep her happy in the dunes, too?

I also put down money on a Suzuki LT 50 for my 3 year old son. He just had his birthday, I'll give it to him on Christmas. I know, he is kind of young, but he is really good and appears to take only calculated risks, if you know what I mean. I was thinking of the Raptor 50, but the Suzuki seems to be lighter, hence a little more power and is just a little bit smaller which will work just fine for him. Please, if anybody has any input on this, too, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I started out on an lt50 when I was about 4yrs. old, they are TERRIFIC starter quads. Very low maintanance and they have a throttle limiter for until he gets used to it. I believe they even have a tether hook up(mine did) so you can follow him around and pull the plug if nessecary. Kodiak are great machines that have the optional 2wd/4wd select and are automatic (unlike the wolvy).

I just bought two quads this week-end and picked them up yesterday.

I got my wife a 250ex which is a very nice bike for a Honda, she was looking for something was a automatic or something sporty with the manual shift, like the KFX700 or the new Bruin 350. She didn't like the either one and I asked the dealer if they had any 250ex's and he had one in the crate. She looked at one of the used ones and she liked it. Fresh out of the crate 250ex $3000 with tax.

Got my little girl a Raptor 50, yeh a little weak but that can be taken care of in the future. I was wanting something with an electric start and throttle control. I rode it last nite for a while and for a little 50 with the screw all they way out it has a lot of power for a 250lb guy. I got this for $2000. with tax. So two quads for $5000. not bad I don't think.

I started my son at 4 on an lt50, still have it, but he is on an lt80 now. I really liked the 50, except the pull starting, but it was good for about 2 years and then he needed something a bit more powerful.

The 50 is a great starter machine, one of the big things for him to learn is to watch where he is going, my son wrecked twice the first day, nothing major just a couple of bumps and bruises, but it was because he was watching me and not the trail.

He does great and I am sure your son will also. On the 50 you can limit the machine down to about power wheels level. For my son I had to take out the exhaust limiter so that it would move him around. After that the throttle limiter worked great for controling him.

I love to see more families get into this it is a great way to spend time together.

Have fun
