My owners manual gives the oil specs. I don't see it harming your engine.

Look at the back of the bottle and look for the circle about the size of a dime: API service

In the bottom half of that circle it should not say (energy conserving). Most 10w40 oils do not have this written in the lower half. The oils that do not have this written are OK to use.

Look for the oil to say for Wet Clutch Protection as well. I found the Havoline Motorcycle 4 Stroke 10w40 Wet Clutch Protection Oil at AutoZone for $2.99 and this will be fine in your Grizzly. The normal Auto Oil is not made for Wet Clutch from what I can tell so far. I would only use approved oils in my Yamaha's. Look in your manual to ensure what is appropriate for the Grizzly, but I am sure what I put in my Kodiak and Blaster will work. I did start with the Yamalube 10w30 4 Cycle Oil, but I don't like paying $4 a quart and having to travel 30 miles to the Yamaha dealer to get it. You should also change the Oil Filter often as well. I paid $12.99 at the dealer for the 1st one, but found cross reference to STP Oil Filter, looks almost identical, much better than the FRAM, for only $5.99 at AutoZone.

Its much cheeper to change you oil and filter than your engine

Good Luck
