Not yet. The swingarm is supposed to be in Tuesday and they said I could pick it up Wednesday. They said they were going to cover it so hopefully it will be fixed and fixed right.

Well it's finally done. I talked to the service guy again today and it ended up not being the swingarm after all. He said it was twisted where its bolted to the differential or something like that. Funny thing is I noticed that before I brought it in but didn't really think that was the problem. He said they put a new swingarm on someone else's and it didn't fix it He said something about Yamaha not putting loctite on the bolts there and that they can come loose and it can twist. He says it's straight as an arrow now. I also asked what the chances are of it twisting again and he said slim because they put loctite on it now. I'm gonna ride it pretty hard as soon as I get it back to make sure that it is solid. If it's going to do it again I'd prefer while it's still under warranty.

Have you seen your Kodiak yet with your own eyes to be certain the problem has been resolved?

Not yet. I'm picking it up in the morning. He said it's straight as an arrow though.

Actually the more I've been asking around the more I find I'm not the only one with this problem. There were a few at the dealer I have mine at and one of my friends brothers had the exact same problem too. Of course Yamaha won't admit there is any problem though.

what would worry me is if the new ones with no miles at the dealers have the problem.

let us know what you find out when you pick it up.

Well I got it back. It's straight for now. I took it out for a little ride. Jumped it a little to try to put some stress on it. It's still straight so hopefully it stays that way.

Glad to hear you have it corrected! must have been nice to see everything straight and no lean..

Can you tell me exactly how they fixed it and what parts they replaced?

What does the warranty repair paperwork say??

They didn't give me any warranty repair work. I just went there and picked it up. The way they made it sound a while ago, Yamaha wasn't going to cover it because they claimed they didn't have a problem with their swingarms. I'm wondering if the dealer just ate the cost. I don't think anything was actually replaced. All I know is he said it had something to do with where the swingarm bolts to the rear gear box. The only thing that's kind of weird is that I checked the bolts before I brought it in and they were tight. There aren't any other bolts on the swingarm anywhere that could cause that though so it had to be those four. I made sure they didn't just realign the racks to make it look like it's straight. It's actually straight I just don't understand exactly how. Oh well it's fixed now so I'm satisfied as long as it lasts.
