MBRP no good, need help :(
Doesn't surprise me on the failure. They were talking about having approval 'soon' for like 9 months. It doesn't take that long (other vendor's pipes came out with approval during that same time). The spark arrestor is a cheasy metal screen that I've often heard burns up if your jetting is lean or pops out (not held very secure). I hope they come up with something better soon...

All spark arestors are cheezy metal screens. However, MBRP's is a flat screen instead of half mooned like most (very restrictive) and the screen is not secured to the metal ring that holds it in place like most. It seems a simple design so i don't see why they haven't stepped up and made the screen correctly to get it approved. However, the Rangers are just looking for that screen and if it's there you are good to go whether it says US forest approved or not. In all my experiences. My MBRP has been checked and approved by the Rangers here in Cali.

Thanks for the info guys.... Ive got it narrowed down to the MBRP or the LRD.... the guy at LRD sold the product very well. He said that you get a consistent 6-8 HP across the ENTIRE band, and about 10 peak, instead of 13-14 peak like most other pipes advertise, so he says. Have you all found this to be about right? How/where does the MBRP make most of its power, and would I get the same 6-8 across the band with it, would it be less, more.....? I would be adding the full system and air filter only for now.
