What are speed govenors

Default What are speed govenors

does any one know and can you remove them to go faster[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

don't know if you can remove or unhook them....but....

a speed govenor is a device like a tact that keeps a motor from turning rpms that make the vehicle/quad go over a certain speed.

I believe ATVs usually don't have a speed governer, but they do have Rev Limiters. These prevent you from over-reving the engine and blowing it up. You can buy a new CDI ($$$) that raises the RPM limit, which in turn can make your bike run faster.
