Well ol skinny..... that is the problem... if we don't police ourselves, big uncle and the insurance industry will. How would you like to ride something that can only go 15 MPH and was a slug... IF they haave their way, it will happen. The only way to combat this is to act responsible and take away their ammunition...

Call me strange....but I can't stand helmets. With a helmet on, it doesn't look as graphic when your head smacks the ground and splits like a watermelon. And plus..those who don't wear helmets won't learn the lesson if they can't see the brain and fluids oozing across the ground. ALWAYS wear a helmet...not preaching...just looking out for the sport.......

Lots of Opinions in this thread. Maybe the ATV manufactures should give one helmet to the family that purchases a quad for free. Make them take delivery of the helmet before the quad can be loaded. ( i think polaris does that with the youth quads) I never see a dirtbike rider without a helmet on. But those things scare me. lol
I do know that if i were out riding somewhere and came across a group of people running in circles cause there friend was laying on the ground half died (no helmet of course) i would ask if help is on the way and drive off never looking at the dying person on the ground. ( not into the blood thing) BUT i still do not feel the urge to preach. Hopefully the persons has life insurance (for the family) and health insurance for his final treatment. over 18 and YOU decide to strap it or not. My wife bought me a nice shoei helmet 2 years ago for a anniversary present. I think she thought i did not have enough life insurance. lol I bought my sons cousin a helmet in June cause his partents would not open there wallet for a 85 dollar helmet. But i do not feel the need to preach.
Stupid accidents are preventable but if you ride long enough or with enough people, and everybody plays hard sooner or later someone is going to suffer some type of injury.

wearing a helmet is something everyone should do, however there are times where you don't, some people (my cousin) once they put on a helmet they get a false sense of security and ride more wrecklessly.
