Default Helmets? yes or No

Well the post is 5 plus pages long...I did not read all of them..

But I'm sure hoping that every other post agrees with wearing your helmet at all times....I don't know why I care so much to be honest..it's not like it's my head smashing in....But I just can't imagine why someone would want to take the chance. (maybe it has to do with growing up in an area where we did not have the option to go lidless.

Yep, I found it. All of you that dont think helmets are always necessary, or at least dont wear them when "riding" and not putting in the yard, read this one.

I have lost friends not wearing a helmet due too massive head injuries. Bottom line....it's selfish not too wear a helmet. No-matter who you are, you are part of someone elses life....you get the easy part when you kill yourself....everyone left behind has too deal with it.

Like most on here, I wear a Helmet 98% of the time. I do it for me and my kids.
I got hassled by a cop at Pismo for unloading without a Helmet, well, okay, I get the picture, loading/unloading can be dangerous.

For guys that don't, and won't, I figure it is okay as long as they don't exceed running speeds, like 20 mph. Anyone who rides faster than that and doesn't wear a Helmet is just stupid. I recall seeing some guys on Raptors without helmets in Arizona. It really freaked me out that they could be that stupid.

If you are an old fart just putting around and can't stand wearing a helmet, well okay, but watch out for that branch, I hit them all the time. You don't have to wreck to have a helmet save your noggin.

I have MADE some of my friends wear helmets. I bought one for one friend, who rides a Honda Foreman like it's a Banshee, says he doesn't like helmets 'cause he hunts. Like any animal can't hear him 100 yards before he can see them. And like he can hear anything over the sound of his motor.

maddog- I started this cause i was bored. I wear my helmet when i am around others in a compitition manner, or when i leave my property. Around the place i do not cause i am not going into unknown terrain or riding fast. I am cruising around looking at the deer, cows, fences etc.

Themez- thanks for the answer and now i understand.

I should add too my previous posts that we should not be FORCED too wear helmets, but we should wear helmets. We have anough laws telling us what too do and how too do it already.

Good post Gary.

I have the same opinion about safetybelts in motorvehicles. I was in a wreck when I was younger and the safety belt saved my life. My cousin was in an accident and his life was spared because he wasnt restricted by the safetybelt. Go figure...

14mins, that sounds like a good setup. Didnt mean to come acrossed as a flamer, apologies if I did.

I got that same lame excuse from the very organization that is supposedly taking ALL our concerns to the CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION........I don't know about the rest of you.........but that fact really burns my **** when considering that these guys are leaving OUR REPUTATION open to ridicule. If you can't "think for yourself" because your paycheck is coming from somebody else.........then I say you have no business representing any of us.
