Buy the 04 Grizzly if you can afford it. Yamaha has corrected the gas boiling issue with vented side covers amd heat shielding under the gas tank that comes from the factory. They also have the strong cv joints which the 03 models supposedly had weak ones that might break. I have a new one and love it. The four wheel drive transfers within one wheel revolution, the machine eats up bumpy terrain and has gobs of power. What more do you want? lol. Seriously, buy the grizzly, you can talk your dealer into $6500 plus tax. I did, and they let me buy the Itp 27"pol. alum. rims and Itp 27" Mudlite tires with center caps and lug nuts at dealer cost of $470 for the whole package.

3TV, my 27” ITP 589’s rubbed pretty bad too, and I also did some trimming on the rear fender on the front leading edge. However it still rubs when I compress the shocks enough, such as hitting a good bump at speed. I guess that’s what lift kits are for but I really don’t want to raise my center of gravity any more. I have 26” Dirt Devils on order now and will see how those work. I’ll still use my 589s for certain riding conditions, but plan to try the Dirt Devils for general use to see how they perform and work with the Grizzly.
Peteyz24, that’s interesting about your handling report on your AC 500. When I comes time for me to get another utility machine I’ll have to give the biggest AC a good look-over. However there are also other interesting models on the way (such as the single cylinder, 700cc, EFI, IRS Suzuki). There have been rumors about Kawasaki putting out an IRS quad too. So I’ll be checking them all out when the time comes…

I reading in atv action mag that Suzuki is coming out with their own new 700. It's not gonna be another Kawi clone, Its gonna have IRS and a single cylinder engine. I think it said it was going to be a new King Quad and out in 05. That new Suzuki Twin Peaks doesn't have the IRS.

get the grizz! dunno about that going into 4wheel drive slow problem. Never had boiling gas (I'm in SOUTH La and have an 02) 04's are fixed anyways. I don't feel top heavy or tipsy
Can't go wrong with any of the bikes listed.
Also, not what each person owns and what they recommend. Why are the Polaris and AC boys in the Yamaha forum
