240 blaster vs 400ex
#21
It all depended on the situation....
Most of the questions...."which is faster?" refers to drag racing....when there are many different situations defining "fast" .
My buddy was a very agressive rider...more so than me at the time. His 240 blaster was fast for sure...but so was he. In the tight woods, he would walk right away from the banshee when I was stuck spinning away. But on the fireroads and fields...the banshee shined.
People talk numbers all day long...horsepower this and that..weight this..against that... Baaahhhh lets ride!
We really liked the blasters...they were light and easy to toss around...but it just plain hurts for us to ride them. Too tall...on a cramped machine with very little suspension and no brakes. At the time we both dreamed of adding the proper a-arms/swing/suspension to make the ultimate light weight mx quad. But the money involved just did not seem worth it on such a small machine.
Each person will have there own results...that's for sure. The most important part is to have fun.
On these forums...everyone talks about drag race this or hill climb that....when, I think in reality...that makes up 1% of my and probably most others riding style..... very rarely do I come across a guy on the trail itching to line up and drag race...we all work our full work weeks...and look forward to getting out in the woods or track and unwinding for the weekend.
