Why do Honda fans say Raptor vs DS or Raptor vs Cannodale? I believe they have realized that the 400EX can't compete would it be better if they would say Raptor vs DS and 400EX vs Cannondale? Because Yamaha has taken the cake? Raptor, Banshee, Warrior, Blaster are the most awesome quads made. Ride Yamaha. But why do magazine always favor Honda in there shootouts? noticed in Dirtwheels Honda always has the most adds and the two page spreads. Why would a magazine bite the hand that feeds them?

yea see the 400ex is ina league of its on right below the 250r but above the banshee cannondale raptor and ds. just KIDDING i think that all the ex KNOW the 400ex can't compete think about it the 400ex is using 80's technology and the ds raptor and fx400 are using 2000 and 90's tecnology that is like comparing a 74 elsinore cr250r to a 2001 cr250r on a mx track there is no comparison the new one wins.

To say a blaster is one of the most awesome quads, what a joke! I owned a warrior, and ridden several blasters, neither of which make a hair on my 250Rs a$$. Ive also thrown a leg over several banshees as well, but when your used to a full race 250R, nothing else compares.

And as far as the new technology winning, thats just not true, at least concerning the Rs chassis. You dont see Laegers running out and building race chassis molded after the DS650s frame do you? No. The truth is, the 250R is the best handling quad ever built, to this day.

Chawess, you are talking full race quad. I never said anything about modifications when I said Raptor, Banshee, Warrior, Blaster. I was referring to those quads still in production, sure R's are nice but so are Tecate 3 and 4's were Quadracers. Let's talk about bikes currently being produced not to compare a Warrior to a 250R be serious they are targeted towards two different markets. 250R WAS an MX bike, a banshee a duner, where a Warrior, Blaster and 300EX are sport bikes a low cost to trail thrills. I have owned them all and simply saying DirtWheels is not a reliable source for measurement. Besides those magazines are published in CA. A lot of ATV's are sold outside CA in fact Texas and NC are leaders in ATV sales. Let it rest the name of the game is fun 250R's were good but that was 1989, This is the Millenium of the RAPTOR, DS, FX and yes still being produced Banshee, Warrior, and Blaster. The 400EX is so popular now that its the most commonly found ATV on the used bike market, why because it fell short of its predecessor the 250R. Case Closed. Go Yamaha!!!!!

I know the 250r is the best handling qaud ever I have one it handled awesome even before the aftermarket shocks it handled great even when i raced mx on it with completly stock suspension. the only thing that it didn't do well was land softly off a 45 foot double. BUT we are talking about the 400ex here not the 250r I can see where U are coming from about just because its new doesn't mean its better but whenh it comes to the 400ex trying to compete to a 660 daul carbed light weight qaud it doesn't compare. all U yamaha guys U just wait till honda brings out a new HIGH perofmance atv that will blow the doors off all others they did it so suzuki in the 80's and they can do it to yamaha and cannondale in the 00's so U can can enjoy the moment yamaha boys but U just wait.

Yeah Yeah, just wait Honda did it to suzuki? Look at the engineering of Suzuki and Yamaha not to say I don't like Honda. Yeah Honda will come out with a bike in about two years it will be a bench mark for a year and then get blown out the box again. Everyone was playing with 250's Yamaha introduces a 350 when everyone was playing with 400 4x4's Yamaha introduced the Grizzly, it was not unitl 2001 did Honda respond and its still a 500. Honda CBR 600F3 was a great bike for years much better than YZF's Yamaha introduced the R6 and R1 two of the most wicked bikes to date, not even the new F4 can touch the R6. ( everytime Honda attacks they don't win) and to mention Suzuki the Hayabusa is the the fastest bike in production where's honda? I am just saying this to say Honda is not that great, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki have the engineering to be the best. We just need to support them enough to buy there products so that they'll give us a little of that R&D they give other sports. Right now Raptor, DS rules, and this could be for a long time.

moto4DX,
You stated the every time Honda attacks they don't win. I happen to have a 98 warrior and used to race motocross back in the 80's.
Let me tell you a fact or two. Honda happens to be the most winningest bike in motocross history.
The have won more supercross titles and national titles then all other machines combined. So by you saying that when Honda attacks they don't win.
LOOK AT THE CHAMPIONSHIPS THE HAVE WON. The bottom line is winning a championship. Winning championships sell machines. For years Yamaha hasn't done squat until J. McGrath started racing with a Yamaha. (and of coarse winning championships)

Quadcrazy- first of all its "of course" not "coarse" Second of all, why do you think Jeremy ditched honda and landed on Yamaha?? Hmmmm, they're better. Pick up a Motocross Journal or Dirtbike Magazine, guess what they rated the top 5 dirtbikes of this year!! 1)YZ 426F 2)YZ 250 3)YZ 125 4)YZ 80 and 5)TT-R 125 ALL YAMMIES!! Whats that tell you?? Thats what I thought! Hell, Honda's good, but I think Yamaha is more on top of it.

First off let me say I am not a speed freek.
However Yamaha does know how to build some fast dirtbikes. I do believe the Raptor will dethrone the DS-650 as the fastest bike out there, we will have to weight on its handling. The wait won't be that much longer.
