hi I am thinking about buying a used 1999 kodiak 400 4x4. I was wondering if anyone has any input on this quad. Is it reliable. Is it prone to any problems ect . I was also told that they have a built in winch mount platform is this true? Any pros or cons with this quad will be of great help.

Its better than the previous year models of that quad. I know they put disc brakes on the front that year, and might have stepped up the suspension to 5.9". That was the last year of the old kodiak, before they changed the design and put the 401cc engine in it. The 99 kodiak had the same 386cc motor that is now in the Big Bear 400. I would imagine the Bruin's 348cc is the old Big Bear motor. Not sure though.

99 Kodiak is a pretty tough bike, and the best of all the old kodiaks due to the changes they made. Too bad they dropped the gray color for that year, because it did look pretty good.
