Default 04 Kodiak 450 starting.....

Hey guys i have a 04 kodiak, and i think i'm having the same problem. It has run and started fine for the past few months, but tonight i went for a ride, and got about 3 miles from home, and shut if off. went to take off agian, and just heard a popping noise coming from under the seat when i hit the switch. made the popping noise when i hit the switch a few more times and then the neutral light would't even light up. pull started, finished the ride and at home still just get a popping noise, and now it is dead. no noise and not dummy lights. This machine is on it's 3rd tank of gas, and has been kept in a garage that stays above 32 degrees... i'm not really sure what to think, i'll go put it on the trickle charger now.. but it sounds like you guys had similar experinces so any advise or thinks to check would be helpful.. thanks

1st things 1st - Tighten the battery terminals. I'd bet the farm it's either that or it needs a trickle charge. Let us know what happens.

um just a little suggestion. mine was doing the same thing. We were confused by it too. it would electric start sometimes and sometimes it wouldnt. it would make a funny noise as well. We tightened up the battery connections and it worked fine afterwards. havent had the problem since.

My 05 Kodiak 450 started the buzzing sound from under the seat a few months back. I replaced the battery and went approximately two months and now I'm back to the buzzing sound under the seat. When jump started it cranks fine. What could possible be causing this problem? It appears that the bike will not keep the battery charged?
