Default 04 Kodiak 450 starting.....

i attempted to start my new kodiak last night, and it had a loud buzzing noise from the relay under the seat and the motor would not turn over at all, battery is good, any ideas. the noise is coming from the component under the seat with the 2 fuses on it.

Mine does the same thing?? I even take the battery out of it and bring it in the house and keep it fully charged?? When you put a battery charger on it it should start. If you find something out let me know.

Its probably the starter relay, that is buzzing. If you have a low battery, it will do that. Put a digital voltmeter accross the battery next time you start it, and if, while the starter is engaged, the volts drop below 10, then the battery needs recharging or replacement. It not unusual for a battery to be bad on a new wheeler.

why does that relay buzz with a low battery, i had bright headlights and gauges and everything, the starter didnt even engage or turn over the motor, just a loud disgusting buzz.....i dont know much about starter relays but i dont understand why it wouldnt turn over the motor, and buzz, do they have a trigger voltage to turn the starter? yeah it is brand new too...pisses me off. hope this isnt a problem i will have to deal with for a long time.

I just went through the same exact thing on my Kodiak. Not starting, just buzzing. I called the dealer, and talked to a service tech. I told him that I think I need a new starter relay switch. He told me that they rarely go bad, and that my battery is probably low. So, I charged the battery. It started fine a couple times, then all I got was the buzzing. I brought the battery back inside, charged it, and reinstalled it. I had lights bright as could be, but still only got the buzzing sound from under the seat. I then bought a new battery, and it fired up just fine. A week later, I traded it in for a new Camo Vinson 500.
