I have noticed lately that my raptor had alot less pull to it coming out of corners, catching the next gear, etc. Well I had thought it was jetting(which still maybe off due to the temp. change), but since I had noticed the valves taping on cold engine start ups I thought it would be a good idea to check the valve adjustment.......MAN!! Where those things tight!! The intakes and exhaust valves both had zero clearance. The Exhaust were substantially tighter though. I ran out of time over my lunch break, but I'm gonna give her a run this weekend, and see if that may have been the culprit in my poor engine performance. So I guess the point of my message is.... Check your valves routinely! I'm scared to think of the damage I may have caused if I had just continued to ride it [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img] Hope everyone gets to ride this weekend. That is definitely the problem. I adjusted my valves for the first time in something like 8 months and I took it down the road once not expecting much and almost got thrown off the back in 3rd.

 

Good advise bro! Routine valve service is necessary for longevity of your atv.....especially a aport atv with a more aggresive cam(s). Later.
