Default bad news: had to crack open the beast

After getting my banshee perfectly jetted it was still running with a stock banshee. I knew something had to be wrong. A quick compression test showed my left cylinder at 122p.s.i and my right cylinder at 70p.s.i!!!! At that point I was amazed that it was actually running with a stock banshee. Me and my step dad tore it down and found a nasty scratch in the right cylinder. Apparently a metal shaving somehow made it into the right cylinder and scratched it up. There was some good out of this though. I learned how to tear down my banshee's top end. I also learned that my intake has been mildly ported. Cool. I will probably have to at go least .080 over. It was at .050 over. The cylinders are going to the local machine shop tommorrow. I figure that I have to make some sort of horsepower out of this so I have decided on vito's super stock pistons. It should scream once it is back together. Can't wait.

well thats a bummer... you know that you can just bore out 1 side...
but i supose if your gonna put vitos in your gonna want em the same...
one of my buddys blew his yesterday... the piston cracked on the exhaust side and peices of it went all over the place.. wasnt pretty... good news is tho that his cylinder seemed to be fine.. so he shouldnt hafta get it bored....

Just be careful, I don't think going any past .80 is safe. It will overheat alot easier too.

i think .80 is as far as you can go with those anyway isnt it?
id try going like 60 or 70 over anyway... jumping 30 over seems like alot...

I might not have a choice. I would be great if I had to only go .060 over. I can't go .070 over though. Vitos doesn't make a super stock piston in that size. I'll see what the guy doing the work thinks.

you can just resleeve the cylinders you have when it comes time for that instead of wasting money on new!
