Timing chain

Default Timing chain

Who here has replaced their timing chain on their Raptor? How difficult was it? Did you have to remove the engine from the chassis? Is it accessible by simply removing the side case? The maintenance manual is not very clear at all.

no you dont have to remove the motor, its best left in so you can keep it stable. The valve cover, head and cam have to come out. Then the left side case and flywheel have to come off.

Unless its very stretched I would save it for when I was doing something else like a new piston, cam or one-way. In your sig it says you are doing that soon anyway.

No easier way to do it really.

007, don't you mean just the head cover and not the head?

yeah, thats what I meant. musta had one too many last night. well, not really one too many or i wouldnt be up this early.. just maybe one too much to be posting detailed instructions LOL.
