Default grizzly back fires

[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img]my grizzly back fires when ever i slow down ,but not all the time. whats the problem??

Default grizzly back fires

If this started up, this season with the cold temps, then it probably is the pilot circuit , in the carb, is running lean. Turn the idle mixture screw, out, 1/4 turn.

started doing it more the colder it got ,i,ll try the fuel /air mixture to see what happens. thanks[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]

Default grizzly back fires

I'm guessing that its the same problem I'm currently having. 660lobsterman when you drive for a long time do you get a headache from the fumes? Maybe you don't have a wind sheild like I do. I seem to be gasing myself. I plan to tackle the carb on the weekend.

I was riding with this one dude on a grizzly this past weekend...he said his quad back fired twice then stalled...we got it started but if he would hit the throttle it would die..turns out....his vaccum hose on the gas cap had water frozen in it.....took off the gas cap for a second and put it back on...started up perfectly..

no fumes ,,the odd time coming from full trottle,let off the gas to slow down ,(boom[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]) she goes. yes i do have a visor but like i said no fumes. thanks kodiak400.

How'd you guys make out with the backfiring problems?? What ended up being the cause & how'd you fix it?
