The truth about reeds and reed cages!
I talked to william yesterday to find out where mine were. He said they haven't been shipped but were about to go out. Monday will be two weeks since I bought them. Ebay item# 2458019477. He said something about a design update and he was waiting until he could send the latest ones out (kind of sounded like a story to me but...). They should be here next week and IF it is warm enough, I will try them out. I have a race next Saturday and was hoping to get a chance to try them but I might run short on time.
My current jetting is 55 pilot, 165 main, next to top needle clip. He recommends a 45 pilot (sounds VERY lean) and 190 main (sounds WAY rich). Right now I have AMAZING throttle response. I have never seen a motor respond like this one does. Everyone else that has a PassionRE engine says the same thing. I can't imagine any gain in response but we'll see. I also had him send me some of the X3 reeds. I will be running the same intakes that I have now. If I see an increase in power, I will try a set of his intakes later.
I will also play with them to see if there is a gain over the standard reed petals.
I told him the only reason I ordered them was to settle a dispute. He told me that I would be eating my words. Well, hopefully next week I can tell you how they taste.

got caught up on some stuff tonight so no review :-(
Leaving to go for more tests runs and finish my jetting Sunday(tomorrow) early...I'll have the whole day to play with it
Is there any kinds of tests you guys want me to do tomorrow and give results on?
Ill see if I can clock myself on a 300ft and 600ft run if I can find measuring tape and stop watch

well, got to do a bit more riding today but I didnt get a chance to go higher on my jets
took down a gravel road slightly frozen and also on blacktop...
this thing takes off at almost break neck speed and more than a few times almost lost my grip on the handlebars, 1st to 4th gear bringing the front end up w/o effort...no problem just sick acceleration [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img] before this could not happen since all I had was a pipe and k&n and I would sooner just spin... now I can spin on gravel fast enough for my front end to still come up in 1st and 3rd...but not 4th.
I also couldn't find a measuring tape or a stop watch to do any clocking. But the only "mods" I'll be doing is getting my jetting down on my low and high end...I cant wait to feel the pull of this thing when those 2 are fixed!!!!
