Default does shifting like this hurt the tranny?

Recently I've gotten good and shifting during a wheelie. I adjusted my clutch so It would only take a little big of pull to engage it.
so, while wheelieing, I ****** the clutch a tiny bit w 2 fingers, shift, then let it out. (this is all very fast)
my question is, does shifting fast like this and using the clutch very quickly hurt the tranny any? the clutch is engaged enough for the engine to rev so ?

you are probobly just burning your clutch up because you adjusted your clutch to be ont he friction point as soon as you grab the clutch, but i dont see anythign wrong, just that you might be burnin up your clutch pretty fast

well, I did readjust it so it's got about a quater inch play, so that's fine.
But now I've run into a new problem. today while riding, I went to pull a power wheelei in second gear ( just gas and pull up). well , in the middle of the wheelie My tranny started popping and metal on metal jerking.
now it does this whenever most of the time when I pull up in second gear I hear my tranny ripping and missing, I sorta jolts along. But it only does this in a second gear wheelie. I can drag race and not have a single problem. any ideas??

Is your chain loose? I can't think of anything else mechanical that would change symptoms between a wheelie and the front end on the ground.

could be ur axle bearings... i dunno its just a guess but the most stress would be on it in a wheelie... when mine went out it did that... and acted like the chain was loose... jus ride it for a lil while and feel the axle housing... if its warm its probley that...

well, it's odd. like i said it only happens when I'm wheeliing it hard on the throttle. it almost seems like it's slippin in and out of gear but more of a jerking loud cruchy sound. i have no idea what it is, but it just happend like all the sudden

Probably is your tranny, but you might get lucky and it might be your rear axle bearings. Put the rear end up on a jack and move the axle up and down and see if there is any "play in the axle" meaning the axle moves and the quad doesnt with it. If that's not it take it to a dealer or some mechanic that you trust to see what the problem is.

I"ve been having some clutch problems and i think my basket is gettin grooved. So I'm thinking mayb now that a piece broke off and is floating around in there. and when she goes virticle, the piece gets caught in moving parts.
any input is appreciated!
