I received that letter 2 days ago in the mail. In all reality this is the second "heat kit" for this problem that Yamaha has put out. I have the first heat kit installed in my Grizz and its been there since March of last year. The first kit they kept quiet and only installed in the bikes that people complained about. I had to ask my dealer about it before they admitted there was a kit. Now it seems they have upgraded this heat fighter kit and are openly admitting there is a problem. The first kit was insulation between the fuel tank and the motor and a "cut out" diagram for the 2002-2003 side panels. Now it seems that this kit has a few more extras including new 2004 side panels. The first fix worked on my bike but I'm still going to take it in and get the extras.

great, the 04 panels I already bought. Oh well, I'll put my old ones back on when I get my 80hr valve/maintenance done, get the heat fighter kit and sale my newer 04' panels on ebay

Now yer think'n! But I doubt now that this info is out that the 04 side panels will go for as much on eBay. I know there has been one guy on eBay selling the side panels for much more than you can get them from the dealer and he's a dealer.

Yep, got the letter the other day. That's cool, I'll take mine in & have it done even though it hasn't been a major issue with me as it only surfaced when mowing for an extended period of time on a hot day or a lot of log dragging. While I have it in the shop I'll get them to replace my choke cable too which has been sticking in the constant below freezing weather we've been having here...
