My pipe is damn hot

Default My pipe is damn hot

I have a ct pipe , I like'd it but its hot .
I start the bike and maybe 1 minute after turn it of and i can burn black mark on a piece of wood .
I don't know if its normal.



I live in Québec (canada) and i dont know the elevation but i'm jetted 170/175
In my garage if I wind the throttle a couples time and check my spark plug its all black I know its too rich
but outside its the winter and about -10 to -15 degre celcius

I don't know much about that pipe, but I think its normal. If it glows re then thats a problem, and tell me...is so, I will give a great link to look at....

Does it glow red?

Its not glowing red but you can see the dust or particule burning on it.

DOUG GUST SITE Thats a great helpful site....But I will go look a little more...

P.S. I saw something on that site about somthing simaler to your problem (if its a problem)

Just sitting there revving it wont give you an accurate plug check. You need to be riding in 3rd or 4th gear then completely shut it off and coast into your garage or where ever and then check the plug. Jetting really shouldn't affect the temperature of the pipe.

I can not find anything, but do that and tell me how is goes. He is right, jetting it should not do anything to the the temp of the pipe. Did you get anyhting in the pipe that should not be there? That might be the problem. I will ask my dealer today, if I drop by. I probaly will not though. I guess it might be normal...but do what HiFlyinRaptorRyder said to do, and see how that goes.

actually, jetting can affect the temperature of your pipe midly...if you are running to lean, the engine runs hotter, making the exhaust hotter, correct me if im wrong, and do you have any other engine mods?

I dont have any other engine mod
If you all think its ok than fine i'll leave it as it is.
But for the jetting procedure i read some instruction of how to do it on the internet,but its freezing out here so i'll let it run a little rich until the spring.
