GALBA Warrior Cam/Piston Kit
I installed the ALBA Warrior Cam/Piston kit on my 2002 Warrior. The power is great, but I was getting a lot of pinging/knocking since the kit uses a high compresssion piston.
I am using a Supertrapp exhaust and modified airbox with a 152.5 main jet and needle raised one clip. I am now running Octane boost to get to about 97/98 Octane level and a NGK 9 series spark plug (one number colder than stock).
I am still getting a slight ping under heavy load at high speed (like up a hill in 4th or 5th). This is controlable, but I still would like to stop the pinging completly. I was thinking of dropping the spark plug heat range by one more number, but need to switch to a Champion brand since NGK does not go colder than #9 for the Warrior motor.
Anybody with this kit experience the same issue? Any suggestions to correct it?

I had the kit years ago (12:1 and .450" lift)
I doubt plugs or octane boost will help you. your best bet is to mix super with better than 100 octane. always worked for me. I could get by on octane boost in a pinch, or just plain super, but it wasnt good for it... no matter what alba said it needs more octane.
