'00 Grizzly and '99 Big Bear making exhaust noises
#1
This is my first post on this forum! Found out about it from the therock on the GM truck site, thanks! I bought my Big Bear 4x4 in May of '99 and since the first day I had it, everytime I turn it off after riding for a while I get a puff noise coming from the exhaust. It smells like gas too! I've had it in to the dealer, they worked on it, but it still does it. Now my '00 Grizzly does the same thing! Is this normal? Any ideas of where to start to look? It was suggested that I might need a new spark plug, but on a brand new one, with only about 20hrs. on it? I take good care of them, I just can't explain it. The reason I bought 2 within a year is that my wife liked the Big Bear so much, that I gave it to her and I bought a Grizzly. I'm 6'6" and 250lbs. I needed the bigger size. I hope to learn a lot from you all, Thanks! Grizzman00, with a Big Bear for her!

Sounds like the compression release, my wolv dosent do it cause its only got electric, but if your battery goes dead it would require a compression release to start it or it would try to dislocate your arm, I would not worry about this noise, my cousins 97 big bear did this until someone stole it 2 months ago.
