Default 219 FT LBS???

I just had my Raptor dynoed on a Mustang dyno and it showed 48.5 hp and 219 ft lbs of torque. I have an 11:1 piston, stage 2 cam, larger valves, head porting, Yosh exhaust, pro design filter and proper jetting ( I don't know what size mains ). I can belive the hp numbers-but the torque seems off the charts. I don't know at what rpm these numbers are at. Does this sound right?

Yeah, I didn't think that was right. If I had a 10 inch stroke then maybe. I was watching the numbers during the test and saw 101 ft lbs and when I asked the guy, he said the peak torque was 219. it was kind of depressing to have spent all that $$ for only 48 hp. I was hoping for at least 52 hp. Does the hp seem right?

Allmost every dyno is going to be different also the tires used and how hard it's straped down all make a difference. I don't pay to much attention to HP #s a dyno is a tuning tool and the main thing is how much improvement is made with each mod or jetting.

Nope. . . not inch/pounds!

He probably had it set up for a 6 cylinder. 219/6 = 36.5 lb/ft. !

Did you get a printout of your dyno? Do the HP and Torque cross at 5150? I think that's where they are supposed to cross.

I wouldn't explain away the 219 as a difference between dyno's but, I would sure guess that your 48.5 HP number would be up to 60 HP on some and down to the upper 30's on other dyno's.

That isn't the reason to get a dyno. What was your A/F ratio?

Think of it this way. If you race someone that has a 60 HP bike and beat them you can say you only have 48.5 HP and they must be a bad rider I'ld rather have a larger handicap.

If you really want 60 HP I'm sure you can take your quad to a more generous dyno and get it but, I think for what you have done that is an HONEST dyno.

You don't think that you have a big enough one already? You riding a DS has to count for a pretty big handicap.LOL J/K

I deffinately agree with what is being said. Don't try and use your numbers for increasing your ego, because more often than not you'll be let down.
