Default Gearing is a god send!

Do you have to pull links in order to put on a 12?

I know what you are talking about, but can you explain how that works to me? please

Pretending that 1 tooth in the front is equal to 3 in the back, how is it that a 14/40 is better than a 13/37?

A Raptor with 14/40 gearring at 8,500RPM goes: 93.77
A Raptor with 13/37 gearring at 8,500RPM goes: 94.14

that should both be a 2.85 ratio

Ward 660 - you don't drop both at the same time. only one or, the other.

Did you figure those speeds mathamaticly? It seems you did because 13/37 is just a bit higher by .011.

The way I understand it is the smaller the sprocket and the tighter the radius the more the chain has to bend/work, taking away power.
Your chain and spockets usually last longer also if bigger.

The speeds came from a gearring calculator, but the ratio came from a sheet I have printed.

I understand what you are explaining. Thanks
