WTF i'm going on 2 months waiting for a head gasket for the GYTR high comp piston. the dealers installing it as a kit. jetting, pipe and piston. anyone else waiting for this...or can i get my hands on it elsewhere.

Knowsalot...if your out there. i could use your expertise.

 

What compression are you going with??? SRP and cometic make some good aftermarket gaskets if you can substitute.

 

i'm going with the GYT-R piston 13.0:1

 

Thats exactly why i do all my work on my bike in the winter. lol
This way i wount be bouncing off the walls wanting to drive it because there is so much snow i wont even be able to go anywhere.

 

I normaly wrench myself...but i bought YFZ with the GYTR kit worked into the price of the quad installed and warrantied. snow doesn't stop me...check out my pics.

Call up bob @ magnolia yamaha, he usually has them in stock

 

I been waiting on quite a few GYTR things

 

I could be wrong here because I haven't verified it, but I was told that the GYTR head gasket was thinner than the stock head gasket.

Yamaha chooses not to have a "dealer-help" program like Honda and Kawasaki has, so it's hard to track down backordered items that another dealer may have in stock. The only way to do it is by having the part number in hand and calling other dealers by phone.

Yamaha has had a hard time keeping up with demand of the GYTR items for the YFZ450. I have quite a few things on backorder as well for my shelf stock. I'm down to nothing but Exhaust, Jetkits, and Nerfbars.

You could have your dealer call Yamaha's Parts Tech Department and ask if the head gasket is the same as stock. If it is, it shouldn't be hard to find one. The same gaskets are used on the YFZ450, YZ450F, and WR450F.

Hope you get yours soon enough.

 

Dude!! no kidding, wtf is goin on.. January 13th is when I ordered some heal guards..still on backorder-here it is march 29th. Oh and of course I've already paid!!! fawkers
