My friend is fixing up his blaster (he has two). He is getting it bored to 220 and rebuilding the engine, painting it and fixing up almost every part on it except for the tires, which he said i could probally get one season with them. He is asking for 1000, he is also putting hydrolic brakes on them except for the front ones which is stock, thanks. Its a 1993 Is this worth it and is it reliable

why did he need to bore it out?

 

$1000 is a lil high for a 93... i bought my 94 in april slightly modded for $500... id try to talk him down a little bit...

is he de-stroking it to bring a 240 kit down in cc's?

 

depends on why it needed to be bored in the first place. If somthing is really wrong with it then even after it is bored it might just mess up again and then you will be the one stuck paying for it this time.
i would just check it out, might save wasting your money

 

yea im not sure why he is getting it bored. he said he went to a shop to replace the seals and piston and all the other stuff but for some reason the shop tolled him he needed to get it bored out to 220. My uncle offered me a free 230 sporttraks that only needs a part worth 60. im confused on what i should get. I personly prefer the blaster. Any suggestion and coments?

 

they probably said .00020 over... there for he added the 20 to the cc's...
1000 is high... i wouldnt pay that much.
