Deep clacking/knocking in 2nd gear under a load?

My 2001 Raptor just started making a clicking or knocking noise in 2nd gear when I'm trying to get up a steep dune, and at times has jumped into neutral when in 2nd gear. Can anyone help? Thanks.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

Do NOT ride any more, you tranny is about to let go!!

Thanks for the reply/info. The worst possible news I could have gotten. I already checked into the website you gave and called my dealer. You're right, the '01 trannies are sh**. Now I've got to think about how I'm going to fix it or get rid of it.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]
