Default cleaning a chain

scrub with kerosene and tooth brush while the chain is on sprockets. then wipe down the chain to remove the excess kerosene. take the quad for a clean ride, not through mud or water to let the chain warm up. then apply gear oil to the chain. the warm chain will absorb the oil better around the o-rings and pivot points. this will not harm the o-rings.
