warrior / clutch

Default warrior / clutch

i think i have a clutch problem but i am not sure since i am a newbie to sport atvs when i am riding and the atv goes under a load its like it is in neutral then i let off the thorttle and it pops and catchs does it sound like the clutch to you guys and if it is the clutch which one should i buy

BE SURE YOUR FOWARD / REVERSE SELECTOR IS IN THE LOCK POSITION IVE HAD MINE JUMP OUT BEFORE

Can you hear a sort of slow grinding noise? The reverse is really tricky if you're not used to it. You kinda hafta feel the engagement to be sure that it's in forward gear.

yes i feel it engage it doesnt do it until 2nd and 3rd gear sometimes higher gear and once its warmed up good

Sounds like it could be the clutch. First, make sure it's adjusted properly. Ya need to have the proper amount of "free-play" in the cable/lever as mentioned in the manual. If there is no free-play it can make it slip. If it's adjusted correctly and it still slips it's probably wore out.

Being a 2001 it is likely OK assuming typical amount of riding - Lots of hard miles ?

Check here for the service manual if ya dont have one....

okay i took it to a local shop today and they told me that it is the clutch what is the best choice for a clutch oem or aftermarket {if aftermarket which is the best choice} i want something that will last
my buddy at the shop told me to go oem please input thanks

When i had my warrior i used the tusk clutch from rockymountainatv.com. Its only like 24.99 plus shipping, and while your in there you might as well change the springs , Just get the clutch kit its only 39.99 or something. Anyway the cluch worked great. Also might be a good idea to get a clutch cable also, well woth the 8 bucks.
