I don't know your dad or your sititution, but this could be one of lives little lessons.
sadly, fixing and maintaining, goes hand and hand with buying, regardless what it is.
Why don't you just go to your dad and ask his advise on how to get it done....might be suprised with the out come.
Good luck

Not to sound like the others but i know your positioon i am 17 and still paying off my 2002 trail boss. I work part time make all payments and am still in school. I also dont beat the crap out of my machine(too bad anyways) and if i do i maintain it by using the manual and my uncles help. I dont know about your relatives but i think if u changed ur attitude a little bit and took time to ask for help rather than sit on a forum and throw a fit because you cant get money too fix ur quad ud be suprised at the help youd get. As others have said use the internet go to dealers, talk to shop teachers if your school offers a engines class (mine does and hes taught me a lot). Let us know how everything goes

I bought my own qaud and a three wheeler with my own money after working on our family farm for 4 years. you should be lucky your dad bought you on in the first place. I had to learn how to do all the maintnense and work on mine on my own and because i am as good as a mechanic as my dad now he pays me to do mechanic work on the farm equipment. I wouldnt have been able to do this if my dad had just took it to the shop to have some you else change the oil and plug.
