Default yfz break in

i just picked up my new yfz 450 a couple of days ago and was wondering what the break in period was. my dealer told me 5-10 tanks of gas and i thought that was a little long. Is that what all dealers recommend.

i saw the weirdest thing today at open night at the nh raceway today, some guy dumped 10 thousand into a warrior. im getting one of those digital cd things so ill post pics when i get that but it was a 430cc stroker motor, ran on alcohol, turbocharged, with boondockers liquid nitrous system. it beat a craycraft 686 and a bunch of piped/jetted yfz's he eventually got beaten by a cbr powered quad. weird stuff got a chance to ride a yfz and the guy said he took 3 tanks to breakin' and he was fine

Well, let's see...

loading & driving from the dealer to the riding spot took about 25 minutes
getting my gear on took about 10 minutes
unloading about 1 minute

25 + 10 + 1 = 36 minutes

I took 36 minutes to break in my YFZ.

Oh? That's my SOP and other than a piston installed by a moron, all my toys run like Cool Hand Luke.

We'll see on YFZ467S v2.0.
