Got my bike back together again with the ross piston & cam, made a big increase in torq & power. I'm still running the stock head pipe with the gytr carbon slip-on. Also running the stock carbs with the dyno jet kit with 148- 150 mains, this sounds small on jets but seems to run ok with out cutting out. would like to go with a better head pipe and play with bigger jets . I just want to get the most out of the piston and cam that I have now.
This is with a higher compression piston? What cam? 148/150 your way to lean. I guess we'll see how well those Ross pistons hold up, soon.

13.5-1 piston .080 bore from stock stage 2 Hotcam. I know the jetting sounds lean but with the stock head pipe mybe I'm only flowing so much air that its working out ok for now. Plug looks good.

I was wondering about that, because a friend of mine has a Z400 bought a trinity pipe set up with jets they supplied with the kit and wow did it make a differance! What pipe kit do you think I should go with?
I that that same setup on my Z400 and with the Sparks pipe I have on the Rap it made it even better. Just wish I could have waited for the Sparks pipe for the Trinity but they werent available yet.

If I were you I would go with the Sparks pipe, totally insane pep and sound.

your jetting will be about right for now........but when you go to a full sparks system,m for example, you you will gain TONS of power qne you will have to jet up several sizes

I was running essentially the same setup you have before my full system.........when I added the pipe I had to jet up from 146/148 up to 170/175

Jet size will also depend on air box mods.

How's the 740 craptoid coming along Scary?
