yfz450 problem?

Default yfz450 problem?

my buddy just got an 04 450 and when he rides it the header glows bright red and someone told him its running to lean? is that normal for the header to glow on them or is it true that its running lean? any tips on how to fix this problem.... thanks guys ryan.. and also is there any cheep mods to get some more speed?

Its a combination of 2 things. The materia the pipe is made out of and it is running to lean.(most are) Just re-jet it.

Cheap mods/free mods-Cam mod, No lid and no baffle

basically what he said its probable not jetting right but whatever that pipe is made out of it does get pretty hot no mater what your jetting is.

I heard that this is common on a lot of YFZ'S
I know for a fact mine does it. And without a guard there, you better watch your legs! I wear thick riding pants ever since i got FHM burnt into my calf..

mine does it too. The pipe is a single layerd pipe. Made to be light weight (for racing) Other pipes are double coated and thats why they dont glow. Your buddies glows because of how thin the pipe is. Afte rhe gets a pipe it wont glow no more.

same thing happened to my buddy. It went away over time. He even asked the dealer about it. But the dealer told him not to worry about it.
