YFZ450 Good for the trails?
#1
Looking for input from any owners who have experience using the YFZ450 primarily for trail riding. Does it tend to overheat at slow speeds? Does that bottom radiator hose near the exhaust pipe melt when it gets hot? Do you need to change the sprockets for trail riding? Is that seat too uncomfortable? Any reliability problems with the YFZ? Does it require alot more maintenance than the Raptor? Any informative responses from YFZ450 owners would be greatly appreciated. We love the looks and the fact that it is so lightweight and agile but want to make sure it can be used for trail riding even though it is designed more for track use.
Thanks!

It like to ridden hard and agressive, so if that's your style then go for it, It's a great bike and loves to revved up and pushed..
I have a rap that i turned into a drag raptor and my buddy has a YFZ and i love to rip around on it, i am getting one for sure when i am ready to trade in..

If you like to ride hard/aggresive.... Yes! If you would rather putt around, and relax....no. Yes the seat is hard, but not any harder than any of the dirtbike's seats I ever had. And the suspension is not bad either. Most of the knuckle heads out there just don't know how to turn compression and rebound clickers and set preload. If your into aggresive trail riding it will be a GREAT steed for you. I'd highly recommend one in those conditions.

I ride with a guy that has a 450, he has no problems running on trails. No over heating issues either.
Very seldom does he have to use the "Man-u-pull" reverse, but he is a good rider. He also never complains about the seat.
