traction problem

Default traction problem

some dude on here told me if i had a +4 swing arm on my blaster i would have traction probs. he seems to know what he is talking about and also what he is doing by the looks of his shee. but i wsas wondering why is this.

Default traction problem

we hhave a +4 swingarm on a blaster and the front end is still hard to keep down. We do have a few more mods though.

its pretty much drag only,
240 cylinder w? no portwork
ftz drag pipe
keihin 34 pj carb w/ k&n and no airbox
pvl ignition
+4 swingarm
lowered
pro wedge 2s in the rear with holeshots up front
it has went 5.60s in 300ft. We dont ride it much though.

Who did you portwork?

frontline performance and coatings it's my dads company.

Its going to depend on where you race, if you race on pavement the extended swingarm will actually be an advantage because you will be able to get a much better holeshot without the front coming up. If it is in sand or loose gravel, you may have a problem. Think about it like this, are you going to be getting better traction if your rear wheels(driving force) is right under the center of gravity or 4 inches away from it? Of course having your rear wheels as close to the center of gravity of the quad is going to get you better traction, because there is more weight on those rear tires, resulting in more bite and better traction. hope this helps...
