i dont think that it will be that big of a deal if you get a yfz. as long as you are careful, know your limits and dont do anything stupid. If you have ridden quads before than i would recommend the yfz or any other sport quad. Oh and someone asked about raptor vs yfz, there are many people that will argue this but the yfz has much faster acceleratio while the raptor pulls in more torque and has a higher top speed. do a search there are tons of topics like that.

I don't know if I'd recommend the YFZ for anyone's first quad. You are going to either kill yourself or learn to ride really really fast!!! At least don't take it out on a track until you get the hang of it!

Learning a clutch is simple.

...and as your first quad, great choice, don't buy something crappy just to get bored with it in a year like I did.

I have seen too many people get hurt on their new quads because they do the stupid thing of buying the biggest, baddest, newest bike out there. I have been riding since I was five and as I grew older and my skills developed I got a bigger quad. The YFZ should never be someones "first quad" no matter how old they are. Just buy an old junker for cheap and develope your abilities. Then go buy your YFZ.

Not everyone has enough money for experiments.

I can understand maybe not buying the baddest bike, though a quad is a total different story, especially when the 450 doesn't have arm ripping power..

I understand your point. But I'd rather wait a little while longer and experiment than break my neck. I've been riding for 15 years and have seen it quite a few times. Despite what a lot of people say riding a quad can be more challenging than riding a dirtbike. Although you don't have as much of a balance issue you are dealing with a lot more weight and a lot more rolling mass.
