Why buy a '04 Grizzly instead of an AC500 or Polaris 500HO?

I had 26" mudlites on my rancher and loved them. I never had a problem going where my friends eiger and my step dads sp500 went. Best upgrade you can do to most utes is a good set of tires. Pretty nice on the trails as well. There is a picture of them on my page.

The only thing that I don't like about the mud lites is that they throw rocks like a bastard. I have the itp 589's and don't be fooled by the mudlites they are not any ligher the the 589's. They are just as heavy and about 4 times heavier than stock. The nice thing about the 589 is the real agressive tread design for hard core mudding.

As far as people saying the Grizz looks better than the Sportsman, that's a purely subjective comment. To each his own. I've always liked the look of the Sportsman series myself, but I really really like the new Grizz LE with the metallic pain .. that's nice!! I'd be afraid to ride it!!! LOL

I like my mudlites. Once these wear out, I will most likely get another set, except I will get 27s instead of 26s.
It is true tho about the mudlites throwing stuff. I can throw 8 foot mud/rock roosts easily by just getting on the throttle a bit.
I love the way they work in water/mud and they still ride decent on trails.
I used to have trouble in 4wd going through stuff with the stock tires. I can go through alot now just in 2wd with the mudlites.

I didn,t install the kit myself but watched the technition do it. It seemed straight forward except when he had to chane the large primary spring. It requires a spring compressor or a press to install the spring. Other than that if you have any mechanical ability it shouldn't be that bad.

I bought mine in springfield MO. pro cycle. 5799.00 out the door, 04 grizzly. We ride our wheelers hard and almost every ride we will have a polaris to work on they do good in the mud but bring your tools and the grizzly goes just as good in the mud as a polaris with one modification. If you plan on getting in deep water you will need to make a belt snorkle for the belt exhaust and route it to the front of the machine where the intake is.

I think everything in the class you are looking at are quite comparable. Don't be bullied by "My Dad can beat up your Dad" kind of talk. It just comes down to preferences. I have never owned a Grizzly and I'm sure it's a great bike, but I do own 2-sportsman and I wouldn't trade them. I ride hard and in all types of terrain, temperature and elevations (2000 to 11000 ft.), and have loved the Polaris. My only regret is I wish I owned a 700 sp.
I'm sure what ever you pick will be the right choice.
