no its not bs. Two of my friends are very good riders, and one has a 03 400ex and the other has i think its a 01 or 02 warrior im not sure of the year but anyways, they both races on a railroad bed. Both machines were pretty much equal until they were both topped out, and the 400ex was about half a quad length in front of the warrior and it stayed that way. Now the raptor 350 is a bit faster than the warrior, so it should be even or the Raptor beating the EX.

Look, a 400ex isnt that great in speed. its very underpowered. Sure, its a GREAT trail machine and mx machine if modded due to its fine handling characteristics, but i saw this with my two eyes that the warrior lost to the 400ex by half a length. And the raptor is faster than the warrior! so it will beat the ex! not by much, but it will. . Why would i lie? i dont have either of these machines and dont ride either yamaha or honda. I dont want to start a fight but the raptor 350 will beat the 400ex.

I used the put the smack down on warriors with our stock 250X...but thats only because I have almost 15 years experience of every kind of riding imaginable
on it. So it was all rider. Same thing goes for a few guys on blasters I met up with.
I disagree though, the 400EX isn't underpowered in stock form. The 400EX was designed as a trail machine, so it has a smooth powerband, plenty
of torque and great "power to the ground" - thats why an EX and other four strokes can beat faster machines in certain kinds of terrain like loose
dirt or on a tight dirt trail like in the woods. Having that kind of power has a major advantage. It would be like racing a Viper and a Ford Explorer All
Wheel Drive down a gravel road. The ford would win because the AWD has the power to the ground so have awesome acceleration and never spin.
The viper would lose.

Yes, this is true. You bring up a very good point. but lets put this on pavement or a hard packed dirt surface like an old railroad bed. a 400ex compared to other machines like z-400s will get blown away. Even a warrior can come REALLy close to beating it. I whitnessed this, and it was on a railroad bed, which is hard packed gravel that is perfectly level. A raptor 350 will beat a 400ex. not by much, but it will. I will find out this weekend when my friend races a 400ex with his raptor 350.

Yup.
I'm not saying you didnt beat him or anything..It could be possible depending on how much this engine was upgraded compared to
the warrior. I looked on yami's site and they don't give HP specs or torque specs, gearing, tranny size, maximum rpm range...none of that
