Default Raptor not running right??

I have a 2003 raptor and everytime that i turn it on, it acts as if there is a rev limiter or something. It isn't the parkin brake and I'm going forward. The first time i rode it, it took about 15 min before it would rev at all then later that day when i tried it, it wouldnt rev at all. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Thanks, but I dont think it would be the reverse rev limiter because I can drive forward just not rev the engine very much at all. It's as if the engine won't go over 2,000 rpm or so.

Is your parking break on? I know that sounds stupid but... There is a limiter on that as well. If the brake is on or the quad for whatever reason thinks it's on it will do as you say. The wires plug into the clutch lever braket. Make sure they are connected and tight.

I think you might be on to something. My friend was riding it (I couldn't becuase I had just broken my hand not much ealier that day), and whenever we would do a dougnut, it would run good. I think i'm goin to run outside and wiggle the wires a little bit. Thanks

Make sure the wire directly under the parking brake cable is connected all the way. I broke that off once and that was the result i had.

Well, it was the parking brake. The parking mbreak would stick in the on position. All i had to do was hit it back into place, thanks for everything.

Loosen up the nut that holds the lever on a little so the parking break moves freely. Not to much though. Glad you got it figured out.
