Sand dunes??? what state is king?

From my front door Dumont is the closest, then Glamis and Pismo is farther. I can get to each place on one tank of gas. O.K. maybe a tank and a half to Pismo.
Dumont is small (in size) As is Pismo. You need reservatios at Pismo as well. Glamis is getting expensive and getting smaller thanks to the greens taking OUR land. But I wouln't make a judgement about other places I haven't been. BUT there is enough sand in Cali for me.
And OH ya I saw pix of the black coast of Africa. But those Elaphants don't have whips on them. Imagine coming over a dune and seeing an elephant? They don't signal so you don't know where they're going.

off topic......but interesting facts none the less
Highest Sand Dunes
The world's highest measured sand dunes are those in the Saharan sand sea of Isaouane-n-Tifernine in east-central Algeria. They have a wavelength of 5 km (3 miles) and attain a height of 465 m (1,526 ft). The Sahara is the largest desert in the world, but the whole region was fertile land until about 8,000 years ago.
The largest sand dunes
in the world in the vast Namibian desert are
awesomely enormous and eerily enticing. In this sea of sand, the rich orange
dunes rise tantalisingly to an astonishing 300 metres (100 metres higher than their
nearest rivals in Arabia) and just beg to be climbed barefoot.
Geologists say that this supreme desert covering most of the 50,000sq km Namib
Naukluft Park, could be the oldest in the world.

Those are just names of other areas of the imperial sand dunes. It's so big they have to name different sections. You can ride in sand from anyone of those names to another, correct me if I'm wrong.
