Default v-force or stock

my buddy has an '03 blaster and he brought it in for service and they said he needed new reeds. I was wondering if it is worth the extra money for the v-force or keep it stock. the dealer said they could get the stock ones for about $75 and the v-forces for about $150. Also what is the increase in performance.

Go with the v-force. You will notice a big difference!! Tell him to pipe it also!

If im not mistaken, the V-force are carbon fiber . .correct? Carbon Fiber is alot more flexable then the stock fiberglass reeds. This means that when you hit the throttle they will respond much better, however because they are more flexable they will flutter at high speeds and rpm's. Because of the carbon fiber, they are known for a bottom end reed. The stock fiber glass is alittle more stiff and won't respond "as" well but will be much more stable at high speeds.

In my opinion, Booyson Duel stage reeds are the best on the market. These reeds are carbon fiber at the top for good throttle response but is fiberglass at the bottom to keep them stable at higher rpm's.

no,
you aren't putting more gas or air into the cylinder so you won't need to re-jet. All aftermarket reeds do is push the mixture into the cylinder faster.

The v-force work great. Good investment imo. If it is just reed petals that are broken, he can get boyesen replacement petals that fit in the stock cage.

The v-force is very popular because it has 4 reeds and not 2. This means that each reed only needs to open half as much as it did before on a 2 reed design. The v-force is great for bottom end.

In my opinion, the best thing to do is to buy the v-force cage and put on the dual stage reeds, this set up would be awsome and you would have tons of bottom end.

the dual stage reeds dont work as well as they are supposed to. the heavy bottom reed only opens half the time and only at very high rpms. I had dual stage boysen reeds on ported cages on my banshee then I switched to tdr carbon fiber reeds on ported cages and I thought that was the best. then I got my hands on a set of v force reeds and wow what a difference. Much wider power band and great throttle responce from any rpm. It increased everything especially midrange. You can hit that thing it half throttle and it just goes. the other reed setups never picked up like that.
