Yea i know, I am waiting for a 240 from him right now.
I was just wondering because to compliment the big bore I would like to have the long rod and my motor is apart at the dealer right now and they are waiting for me to tell them what to do. I needed new crank bearings in it and was also going to install a hot rod but now im thinking of maybe a long rod. I don't have the time to wait for a longrod from hollywood.

your porting would have to set up for the long rod, otherwise the port timing will be way off.

You do not just install a longer rod and let the happy motoring begin. The top of the piston would be out the top of the cylinder woth everything else the same. Too compensate for the increased rod length either a piston with a revised pic location must be used (higher), or a spacer plate between the cylinder and cases is sometimes used. Longer rod length of a good thing. The piston recieves less side load and the piston dwell time at top dead center is slightly longer, allowing for a more efficient combustion cycle.

seann, Its done right now actually. I am trying to find a way to go over and pick it up. its wierd that they did it so quick, i was surprised when they called me last night.

Turned out it was the crankseal...the bearings were fine i guess but the seal was no where to be found. I guess it got torn out and then ripped up inside the case. When he took the cover off there were little pieces in it.

you can't just install a long rod crank, you have to use a spacer plate, its not that easy either, the cylinder has to set at the right height.
