i would find a second opinion....that dealer must know your dad has money in the bank or something along those lines cause those quotes are way too high

Dude, DO NOT PAY THAT MONEY TO HAVE IT "FIXED". It is a total ripoff! Check out my recent thead titled "my nightmare at the dealership" or something like that. It sounds like your dealership is even worse than the one that screwed me. Here is what you will pay, and do not pay more because they tell you you need it:

plug- $2.50-$3.00
don't need a jet kit if you get a stock filter
stock filter - $20.75
oil - $10.50 total for 3 quarts
oil filter - $4 at the auto store Bosch 3300
no gaskets
Aftermarket oil tank - $200 - holds more oil, runs cooler, polished aluminum!
no clutch
no labor for clutch, filter, 20hr service, oil tank, or power wash.

There, I saved you $1220.00. Do the basic oil change and get a new filter and plug and put them in yourself. And WASH THE DARN THING! If you read the owners manual it says not to use a powerwasher, so you may ask the dealership why it would use one when it is against Yamahas recommendation.

DO THESE FEW THINGS FIRST! Then if you are still having problems eliminate them one by one. If the jetting is off and it is not running right, ask us and we will tell you bettter than any dealership ever could where your jetting should be. If it still isn't running right, then maybe check into the clutch. YOU look at the crankcase and see if it is dented in. Find out what they are talking about. If this bike is really as trashed as you say it is, it is your own fault for not checking up on it more often and making sure your "friends" were not abusing it. IF you had a child would you leave it with "friends" for 3 months without checking up on it? Didn't think so. So until you have kids treat your quads like one. Watch out for it's wellbeing while embracing all the joys it can bring. AND DON"T NEGLECT YOUR RAPTOR!

Hey Raptor4life, whats the name of that dealer? You're getting hosed! I'm from Jersey, maybe I could recommend a better yami dealer. I do my own work, but there is a decent dealer near me. BTW, you could do most of that work for 1/5 of what they are charging you.
