Default 1000cc inline 4 EFI Quad 145 hp

I heard Yamaha will be making a 1000cc inline 4 Quad 145 hp, its the same engine they use in the R1 Motocycle and the RX-1 Snowmachine!

Engine
Displacement 4 Stroke/ 998cc / 145 hp
Cylinders FOUR CYLINDER/ROTATED
Cooling LIQUID
Bore & Stroke 74.0 X 58.0
Intake Design 3 VALVES
Carburetion MIKUNI BSR37 X 4, LIQUID HEATED
Ignition DIGITAL D.C. C.D.I. w/T.P.S.
Exhaust 2 VALVES, TITANIUM EXHAUST
Clutch Types YVXC, VARIABLE RATIO, RVRS SECONDARY
Disc Brake Type /145 Lightweight 4 Piston Hydraulic Brake with Adj. Lever, New Lightweight Ventilated Disc.

with the current laws it would have to be classified as a ohv not an atv.

I believe the law is if it's over 800cc or 900lbs it's an ohv but im not positive correct me if i'm wrong.

Who ever told you that must be on some serious crack. That would never pass manufacture insurence.

Why would the law be any differant than a snowmobile? there both off road vehicles.

Also, that engine is very light (By utilizing titanium for the exhaust pipes and mounts, magnesium for the chain case cover), only 555 lbs in the RX-1 snowmobile

Why, thats what every one said 5 years ago when 500cc was the biggest engine.

If you can insure a 1000cc snowmobile, an 1000cc bike, why would the quad be any differant?

sounds sweet!!!!! i agree with Daranello75 cause if somone can insure a snowmobile with the same engine, a quad isn't much different... what is ohv??? (this is my 600th post!!!!)

unds like it would be sweet if it passed all the tests and got made. but somehow i think that there woud be lots of people dying on those things, which is probably what yamaha is thinking too. cool....hell yes, dangerous.......hell yes. i doubt well be seeing it anytime soon.....(would be sweeta$$ though)
