Default carb trouble

does anyone know why on my warrior the little rubber boot that connects to the back of the carb and 2 the engine would have busted? i was riding today and it started runnin wierd so i stopped and looked at the carb and noticed it was cracked, so i push it back 2gether with 1 hand and drove it home and it ended up splitting almost all the way around. also where would i get this part from?

It could possibly have just dry rotted, what is the condition of the seal, good, bad? Or do you see signs of any excessive heat?

Rubber can only resist the chemicals in gas for so long. Yours made 7 years before coming apart, That doesnt seem too bad. Couple that with high heat, and vibrations, its gonna fail at some point.
