Next time re-read the article without thinking so much on how your going to defend your GYT-R exhaust so you will get the drift that the stock exhaust that was tested is the BIKE exhaust, not the quad exhaust. Completely different set up..

I can pull my old carbon GYT-R (had 2) exhaust out of the garbage can and sell it to you since it is so good in your mind. How much will you give me for it? $250?

While you guys are arguing about yfz pipes, I'll talk about the raptor pipe since thats what he has.

A GYTR full system is a great pipe for mid range and stock bikes. If you plan in squeezing max power out of that puppy, then you will need a better setup. May I suggest Sparks, CT, Duncan, or LTE. LRD is a great pipe for power as well but its a non spark arrested model and extremely loud for recreational riding.

It really depends on what you want to do with the bike. If you are going to do a few performance mods to beat stock raptors and other close stock quads, then the gytr is a great choice. If you want max hp and overhead for future modifications, go with a more serious pipe from one of the companies I listed earlier. You wont have as much midrange on a stock machine, but you will have more top end and you will breathe better as you upgrade other components.

Its funny, I had a ct pipe on my otherwise stock raptor and never lost to any other piped and filtered raptor. Including gtyr, yoshi, fmf, alba, and more. I even beat some with cams. Part of that is rider I imagine, having poor competition. But some has to do with the equipment.

JMHO, take it as you will.

where the h3ll do you get a Jardine Raptor PIPE AT????? Iv never even heard of it for quads before...just bikes

GYT-R is actually a great pipe, its better than the full yoshimura system i had, yet you ppl fail to realize that the headers are for the most part still stock diameter....

Mine breaths like an unrestricted beast, i dont know why you ppl think Sparks is soo good, even CT for that matter...I have all the Intake mods, um alum airbox, with proflow, cant take in anymore air then that, unless u use sixsixt's mod...but i cant due to type of riding i do.

Also the Port and Polish is not just a mild job....so with all of this done, my bike runs really well on the GYT-R...lol even with the silencer.
It is a great low end pipe also Yamaha has charts. I dont say this just because i have it, and feel as though i should back it...i have tried several pipes.

I've been through this too many times. CT makes the highest horsepower pipe. The Yoshimura is great, too. If you ride off the track like most of us here, then you should really think about the noise issue more than anything else. We're seeing more land closures and/or restrictions due to noise and the frickin enviro-wackos in the democrat or green party. There's an industry wide drive toward quiet power, and we should keep those tree huggers off our backs by being a bit more responsible about noise. BTW - CT has a link to the dirtwheels Raptor pipe shootout - http://www.ctracing.com/PD_ct%20phot...ruary_2002.htm - the only thing about this pipe shootout was that some of the pipes were dyno'd with the airbox lid on. You can tell by the jetting used. Without the lid, the Raptor needs a 170/175 and with the lid, jets drop to 145/150. The lid is worth a couple of hp when removed.

Most pipes are going to be very close in performance if you remove the airbox lid and jet them properly. Personally I like the White Bros. E2 system because it's more quiet and makes good power. You need to be really careful when looking at dyno runs on the web. Different dynos will read differently, and the tires used has a big influence on total hp output. HMF pipes look really low powered until you see that they are using stock tires, which suck about 5 - 8 hp off the peak.

This is my last post here due to the amount of BS..I cant stand hearin bout this Jardine crap lol...nothin against those of you that have it, and its nothin personal but this thread doesent need to be taken any further on my part.

The Yoshi System is nice, i liked mine, fact is, i like my GYTR much better.

F the Dyno's from all this Jardine crap, it was on the Bike...and this was supposed to be a RAPTOR Pipe we are talking about, not YFZ.

All good, not throwin any gas on this fire,
